Construction began on Two Rivers Mansion in 1859 — home of David and Willie McGavock, and among the most prominent structures in Nashville.

For a century, the land in this oxbow curve of the Cumberland River was known as McSpadden's Bend.

What is interpretive signage?
Interpretive signage tells the story of a place — its history, ecology, or culture — through durable outdoor panels that combine researched text, images, and design. Unlike wayfinding signs that point you somewhere, interpretive signs explain why a place matters. You'll find them at parks, trails, historic sites, and museums.
What are interpretive signs made of, and which material lasts longest outdoors?
The most durable interpretive signs are made by dye-sublimating high-resolution graphics into powder-coated aluminum. Storyville builds every sign on its Alumaluxe™ panels — rated for 10+ years outdoors, graffiti-proof, and made from 90% recycled aluminum. Alternatives like high-pressure laminate and vinyl tend to fade or peel sooner.
How long do Alumaluxe signs last?
Alumaluxe panels have a 10+ year outdoor life expectancy, even in harsh sun and weather — because the dyes are infused beneath the surface where they can't scratch, peel, or fade.
Are the signs graffiti-proof and vandal-resistant?
Yes. Because the image is fused beneath a hard powder-coated surface, Alumaluxe panels are graffiti-proof and vandal-resistant — markers and paint wipe off without damaging the graphic underneath.
Does Storyville write and design the content, or just fabricate the signs?
Both — and that's the difference. Storyville is one of the few companies that researches and writes the interpretive content, designs the layout, and fabricates the finished sign in-house, so one accountable team handles the whole project from first research to final installation.
